Juan Zuloaga Eslait
Filmmaker
Juan Zuloaga Eslait is a Colombian filmmaker born in Barranquilla, with a Master’s degree in Film Directing from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University.
Throughout his career, he has directed various projects that have been selected and awarded at international festivals. His first thesis short film, “Before The Winter”, received the highest honor granted by the Directors Guild of America to students: the Grand Prize at the Student Film Awards.
As a filmmaker, Juan (“Zues”) does not adhere to a single genre. He is a borderless storyteller, dedicated to crafting universal narratives that transcend language and culture. His purpose is to make films that provoke thought, challenge perception, and lead audiences toward a deeper understanding of the human experience — and, through cinema, a more profound reason to live.
